I haven’t been doing much development on SFE of late, mostly due to hardware limitations. The storage that I am currently using is limited and not as reliable as I would like it to be.
While I haven’t spent much time on the back-end, I’ve been working with different technologies to make the front end better. I’ve started developing several website using Erlang/YAWS as the web-server. I’m also switching to using DHTML and Ajax for some features that I haven’t been able to do yet.
The combination of Erlang/YAWS and Ajax is amazing. I’m going to be able to combine the back-end and front-end of the website in ways that was not possible with Cold Fusion. I’m sure it is possible with other server side languages, but now I can keep my server code in one amazing language and get the benefits of it on the front end through Ajax.
As my projects start to unfold, which will be a while for the learning curve, I’ll put up some links and when I get the front end working with Erlang and Ajax here it will be more then noticeable ![]()
